T-mobile FamilyWhere GPS tracker?

my parents put a GPS tracker on my t-mobile phone recently, and i was wondering if there was ANY WAY to shut it off or deactivate it ? someone told me that if you turn off your phone it's deactivated, but i want to know for sure. my parents are super strict and need to learn that teenagers need space...
