Discuss the choice of UDP as the transport layer protocol for SNMP.?

UDP is much easier and faster than TCP, but it has one major drawback, there is no way to confirm the message was received. SNMP overcomes this issue by always expecting a reply from the agent when a message is sent. The only problem would be with traps where there is no reply.
