Question for CURRENT U.S. SOLDIERS ?

You see i am 18, just graduated from high school June 2nd, well i been wanting to join the military (preferrly the Army or Marines, i wanna go infantry) well i was speaking wit a army recruiter he told i me i am considered a TIER 2???? And that i gotta make a 50?? And my uncle who?is afghanistan right told me not to do anything right now or go talk to other branches? Why is this? Is the Army not taking anyone right now? Should i wait? Or just talk to a Marine recruiter? Let me know? NO SMARTA** ANSWERS!!!!
