Joining the air force?

I'm 18 years old and already completed on year in college of nursing prerequisites and was considering joining the air force, i met with a recruiter and some things are still unclear about if i could finish schooling in there for nursing. My life at home isn't the best, my dads an alcoholic and my moms an addict. I'm trying to do better for my life and go to college and make smart choices but being in this environment is making it hard, i have always considered the military and now more then ever it seems to be as if it would be a very smart decision. My concern is whether or not i will be able to get a degree and what degree would be the best idea.
