In excel, for my company I have a spreadsheet and I need formula help!?

I have an "Install Tracker" where I maintain a spreadsheet of the installs done that week, and for which sales rep. I need the formula for at the bottom taking out of that list Dustin had this many, Tom had this many and so on.. I need an if formula similar to "CountA" because they're not numerical they're names, and and "IF" formula so that from this long list of installs and rep names I can say, well out of this list, Dustin's name appeared this many times without having to count it out myself like i have been! Please help!
