Does having a bachelor's degree help my chances of getting into the coast guard?

i will complete my bachelor's degree at the end of this year (it's in English - I would eventually like to become a teacher) and I would like to know if the Coast Guard looks more favorably on people with degrees. Obviously, it would make it possible for me to go to OCS, but does a degree help rapport with the recruiters? I would think that it would show I have motivation to succeed and a work ethic, two very important qualities to the military service.
