Do you get to choose which Marine Regiment/Battalion you want to be in when you join the Marines?

I'm joining the Marines when I graduate High School, I've talked to recruiters and everything and I've done my research. But one thing I have never found an answer to is whether or not I get to choose what Marine Regiment I'm in or Battalion. I would like to either be in the 1st or the 7th, but I don't know if I get to choose or not. Thanks.
