Coast Guard ME Reserve requirements?

The CG website doesn't state any differences in terms of enlistment requirements for active duty and reserve. However, a recruiter told me that all people enlisting as an ME in the reserves need to already work in civilian law enforcement or have experience in law enforcement, or something like that, which I am not qualified for. Active duty, on the other hand, just states you meet the basic requirements on the website, which I definitely DO meet. This doesn't sound right to me, as I have seen many forums with ME reservists in the ME A School within the last few months who never stated previous law enforcement experience. Any help would be great!
